District 6 motions for the Fall 2026 Assembly

District 6 is bringing Round-Up motions to the Fall 2026 Assembly (Portland, 16–18 October). The full text of each one is linked below, so you can read them on your phone during the Assembly.

District 6’s three Round-Up motions

District 6’s group conscience approved these on 11 September 2026 (7–0–0). They were brought to the September Area Committee Meeting, which ran out of time before they could be heard. Since then they have been revised on feedback from the Area Guidelines Committee (16 September 2026).

  1. Round-Up reporting to the Area Committee and the Assembly. Sets when the Round-Up reports and what it reports: the state of the accounts at every ACM and Assembly, a written report within two weeks of a request, a full report within 30 days after the Round-Up, and the final report at the Fall Assembly. 2. Succession to the Round-Up Chair, and attendance and replacement of the Chair and Alternate. If the Round-Up Chair’s seat is vacated, the Alternate steps up for the rest of the term, as Area Officer alternates already do. Gives the Chair and Alternate the officers’ attendance and replacement rule. Read the motion (PDF)
  3. The Round-Up Treasurer to be elected by the Assembly, with defined duties and two signatures. The Assembly elects the Round-Up Treasurer, using the Area Treasurer’s recommended experience. Writes down the Treasurer’s duties, and requires two signatures on every Round-Up payment. Read the motion (PDF)

Two floor motions

The following floor motions are additionally being presented by our DCM as a voting member of the Assembly.

  1. Urgent removal under Section V.A.8, with notice before any other removal. Defines when removing a trusted servant counts as urgent business. Urgent removal happens only at a convened meeting, by unanimous vote, with the grounds reported in writing. Any other removal starts with written notice and a chance to correct the concern. 2. An ad hoc committee on the Round-Up’s guidelines and the Area’s corporate documents. Forms a committee, open to any interested member, to propose how the Round-Up’s operating guidelines and General Service Area 28’s Articles and Bylaws should be brought into the Area Guidelines Handbook. It reports to the February 2027 ACM. Read the motion (PDF)
